SURVEYS

Our consultants deliver targeted environmental surveys and assessments to identify or rule out project constraints with certainty. We work with you to define a practical and compliant path forward.

All surveys are undertaken in accordance with current industry best practice, including guidance from the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and the Bat Conservation Trust, and are aligned with relevant UK legislation and planning standards such as BS 42020:2013. Our in-house team holds Natural England Level 1 bat licences and Level 1 great crested newt class licences, providing robust technical capability across core protected species work. For highly specialised survey requirements, we draw on a trusted network of expert sub-consultants to ensure each survey is delivered by appropriately qualified and experienced professionals.

Our approach is built on precision, efficiency, and early risk identification. We combine robust ecological field methods with modern technologies—such as environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis, remote sensing, and thermal imaging—to detect the presence or likely absence of protected and notable species with a high degree of confidence.

Surveys are designed proportionately to the level of risk, avoiding unnecessary survey effort while ensuring full compliance. This enables faster decision-making, reduced programme delays, and clear alignment with regulatory expectations.

Outputs are concise, technically robust, and designed to support both planning and on-site delivery. Where constraints are identified, we provide clear, actionable recommendations to enable works to proceed efficiently and in full compliance.

Robust data. Confident submission.
